The Green Platform project WINDRISE brings key stakeholders in the Norwegian market together across the business value chain of offshore wind jacket substructures to enable upscaling and accelerated deployment of large-scale offshore wind farms.
The project will transform over five decades of excellence in manufacturing and installing oil and gas jacket structures into a new, highly integrated, sustainable system for producing, transporting, and installing offshore wind turbine substructure jackets.
Such radical change requires industrial innovations within main areas such as digitalized and automated jacket design and fabrication, resource-efficient transportation and installation, and environmental-friendly suction bucket anchoring, and thus enable a greener, cheaper, and faster deployment of wind substructures.
Aker Solutions owns the project and includes the partners BOA Offshore, Cranemaster, DOF, Manufacturing Technology Norwegian Catapult Centre (MTNC), Scanmudring, Sarens, SINTEF Ocean, SINTEF Manufacturing, SINTEF Industry and NGI.
Green Platform is an initiative bringing together the Norwegian government agencies Enova, The Norwegian Research Council, Innovation Norway, and Siva to facilitate research and development driving green growth.
