Basics of parametric modeling for geotechnics with Grasshopper
Parametric modeling is the next step in the evolution of computer-aided design and an imperative for BIM design.
Name: Basics of parametric modelling for geotechnics with Grasshopper
Instructor: Daniel Ryghseter and Jessica Ka Yi Chiu
Duration & sessions: The course is offered in 2 options:
- 3 x 5 hours Basics of parametric modelling
- + optional 3 hours basics of IFC exports
Description: Do you want to efficiently model retaining walls and rock bolts by using parametric modelling in your daily work with geotechnics or engineering geology? Join our 3-session course and learn how Grasshopper can be used to design typical geotechnical structures. In addition, we offer a 3-hour optional session on the basics of BIM modelling and IFC file export with Grasshopper. No prior experience is required!
Content: Basics of Rhino and Grasshopper. Setting up Grasshopper script; input data, data trees, data processing, output data and export. Geotechnical design examples; retaining walls and rock bolting. Python in Grasshopper. Export to IFC.
