Welcome to GEOS 2026 in Oslo, Norway
August 31 - September 2
Where science meets action

Climate and societal change is reshaping natural hazards. Landslides, avalanches, floods, and related geohazards are becoming more frequent and complex, increasing risks to infrastructure and communities worldwide. Addressing these challenges requires stronger integration of science, engineering, governance, and practice.

GEOS builds on international partnerships including GEOMME, NATRISKIP4EWS, and associated collaboration projects. The symposium brings together researchers, engineers, practitioners, and stakeholders to share knowledge, align approaches, and strengthen partnerships across regions and disciplines.

The symposium is forward-looking, focused on advancing understanding across contexts and supporting development of future collaborative research and implementation.
