WP4 - Sustainable environmental impact

WP4 will quantify the impacts of groundworks in current projects, in collaboration with clients and partners, and will assess parameters such as costs, material consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, using methods such as life cycle analysis (LCA). When quantifying climate and environmental impacts from the projects, alternative solutions will be included in order to provide a decision basis for selecting the most sustainable solutions.

Assessments will also be made for generalized scenarios in different phases of the project planning and construction in order to identify processes or areas that have a large impact on the environment and climate. This information will help to understand where opportunities lie in different project phases that influence design choices. The integration of these calculations in BIM models will be considered in order to facilitate rapid calculation of climate and environmental impact during redesign.

WP3 will use input from WP4 when looking at the optimization of the early phase planning.
