WP3: Initial stress conditions and anisotropy in natural quick clay slopes

This work package will analyse the in-situ stress conditions for natural quick clay slopes. A methodology will be developed to generate the initial stress conditions required for stability analyses of slopes.

The effect of initial stress conditions will also be assessed in the laboratory, by conducting a series of triaxial tests. Finally a numerical sensitivity study will be conducted to quantify the critical factors controlling the stability of quick clay slopes.
