WP 1: Drilling for installation piles and anchor tie-backs

Work tasks WP 1:

• Field instrumentation and data collection from older and on-going projects to document the effects of improved
• methods for drilling of tie-back anchors and foundation piles.
• Laboratory investigations on soil specimens to evaluate the settlements due to the disturbance from drilling.
• Model-tests in laboratory to evaluate the effects of drilling procedures and ground conditions.
• Numerical simulations of the effects of disturbance, drainage and erosion to verify the reliability of the models
• to predict the empirical results.
• New guidelines on pile and anchor drilling to prevent damage.
