Innovative mitigation and resilience
Based on the analysis of the other project tasks, new or improved foundations and the design of tsunami mitigation measures will be developed.
These will be tested in hydraulic model tests. A comparative analysis between these innovative and existing structures will assist in assessing the new structures. The model tests will produce a guideline on how these structures must be designed to survive tsunami attacks.
Besides the structural measures, an overall concept of risk management in tsunami-affected areas will be designed, including evacuation planning, preparedness, etc.
